As we open some modest gifts this morning, I’m thinking about this coming year: Where I hope the walk more closely matches the talk. Where maybe the truest act of love for our planet, our home, will be to repaint the worn, tidy the garden, repair the torn pants, patch the jacket, sweep the sidewalk, bake some bread and give it to the neighbors. Where those acts serve as the real presents.
Where maybe less can still be more. Where maybe less is still abundance.
All my best to all of you, Merry Christmas.

Merry and Blessed Christmas, both, with much love ❤️ Us Two
Thanks, Jeanne, see you in January!
Brian,
From one small farmer to another, a very Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends. Please know that your writing is greatly appreciated as we hurtle through space on this great orb of uncertainty (some would say absurdity) together.
Foggy, melting, dripping, and mud here in Wisconsin on Christmas Day. Don
Thanks, Don, I always appreciate your comments. Mud in December? Oh, no, too early! My elder bushes are trying to leaf out.
So, I’m sure Winter will arrive with a vengeance once everything is upside down,
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I am so glad I found your blog.
Actually painting the chicken coop, the hog shed, and the doors and jambs on the Shouse are on the warm weather “to do” list.
26 degrees and dew/fog dripping off the veranda roof. 60/40 ratio of snow/mud going on here in on our Idaho mountain. We seem to get the brunt of our snow in February and March.
Peace to you and yours
Reading here; THE SOUTHERN CHRISTMAS BOOK by Harnett T. Kane. An oldie, but a goodie with some interesting historical tidbits that I did not know.
Thanks for the kind words. Your list reminds me that I need to reputty the windows on the well-house.
Have a warm and safe New Year.
Merry Christmas to you and Cindy. Thank you for the ongoing gift of your writing. Wishing you well in the new year and decade.
Sarah
Well, thanks, Sarah. But when will you return to your own chronicles?
Cheers,
