A midweek post from Winged Elm Farm? I thought the world had just ended. I might need a couple cushions before I settle onto that bench, but I’m interested in testing it out.
Well, I’m glad you are fit. I’d hate to be responsible for your untimely demise. Whenever you make that TN trip, the bench will be here, properly cushioned, of course.
Really nice. Details? [Elm, hickory, oak??; mortised? Roane County tree(s)?… maker’s mark and date underneath?] Future archeologists and historians will be only too happy to make up the details if they are not recorded for posterity.
He made it with castoff cedar rounds and planks from our sawmill. No nails or screws (excepting the lettering). The rest connected with wood mortise and tenons. Not sue if he put a maker’s mark. If not, we will correct.
ohh, that’s nice. thanks for sharing.
You bet, glad you liked it.
